The Educational and Professional Program “Medical Physics” is designed to train specialists in medical physics in line with the qualification framework for Medical Physics Experts developed by the IAEA and adopted in the European Commission Radiation Protection Report No. 174 “European Guidelines on Medical Physics Expert” (MPE Guidelines). In accordance with these recommendations, our university has launched the training of medical physicists in collaboration with the University of Rzeszów (Rzeszów, Republic of Poland) and in partnership with the “Precarpathian Clinical Oncology Centre” of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council (Ivano-Frankivsk). The aim of the program is to prepare specialists capable of conducting scientific research and solving complex tasks and problems in applied areas of modern physics and nanotechnology, as well as applying this knowledge across various fields of science and technology. The main focus of the program is to ensure that graduates are able to integrate advances in modern physics into medicine, particularly its application in radiation oncology. The program was developed in consultation with experts from partner institutions and includes important practical courses covering all key aspects of radiation physics, medical physics, and radiation oncology. At the same time, the program is designed to encourage students to pursue further education at the doctoral (PhD) level. This includes detailed study of the development of modern materials and devices for medical applications, such as ionizing radiation detectors, thermoelectric and optoelectronic systems for medical use. Students will be actively involved in research activities, and the results of their master’s thesis projects will be targeted for publication in reputable scientific journals. An important feature of the program is the double degree system with the University of Rzeszów. Through this, students will have the opportunity to complete practical training at partner medical institutions and study in the modern teaching laboratories of the university in Rzeszów. |

Rzeszów University (Rzeszów, Republic of Poland);
KNP “Precarpathian Clinical Oncology Center of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council” (Ivano-Frankivsk city)
Additional Advantages of the Educational Program:
- The programme is jointly developed with the University of Rzeszów: students have the right to study free of charge at the partner university, with subsequent credit transfer. Graduates receive two diplomas (Ukrainian and Polish). At the same time, students complete practical training at the “Precarpathian Clinical Oncology Centre” (partner clinic in Ivano-Frankivsk) and at the Bronislaw Markiewicz Subcarpathian Oncology Centre in Brzozow.
- Students enrolled in the educational and scientific program have the opportunity to undertake internships at partner universities both in Ukraine and abroad.
- Participation in academic exchange programs with European universities (until 2023, students participated in exchanges with universities in Slovenia, Poland, Germany, the USA) as well as in joint or individual EU grant programs (e.g., ESTEEM H2020 EU) or national grant programs (e.g., NAWA, Poland; BMBF, Germany, etc.).
- Access to modern equipment and up-to-date literature!
